Just after a week the RC1 was released, today wordpress announced the RC2 is out. There is no compatibility issues with themes as nothing has changed in core of the themes. A screencast also posted in the RC2 article showing how to play around with the Wordpress 2.5.

I personally loves the new build in gallery system as it works flawlessly and doesnt required 3rd party plugins with is good for future compatibility.
