Gmail – Attachment Failed

January 25th, 2010 throx No comments

Are you on the same ship with me ? The new Gmail multiple attachment features was great. But some users will have this “Attachment Failed” error while uploading. Having the latest Flash and Browser wont help. After many researches and I found some solutions to fix this issue. It is relating to the encryption on HTTPS. All you have to do is turn on HTTPS in the Gmail settings – General. Or you can just type https://www.gmail.com while accessing to your Gmail.

The other way to do it is just disable the advance attachment features in the Gmail setting. Which is not a good option as we all like to use the latest features.

Google Wave Invite Giving Out

January 22nd, 2010 throx No comments

Leave you email in comment or Contact Me. I will send out the Google wave invitations ASAP.

What is a wave?

A wave is equal parts conversation and document.People can communicate and work together with richly formatted text, photos, videos, maps, and more.

A wave is shared. Any participant can reply anywhere in the message, edit the content and add participants at any point in the process. Then playback lets anyone rewind the wave to see who said what and when.

A wave is live. With live transmission as you type, participants on a wave can have faster conversations, see edits and interact with extensions in real-time. (Quote from Google wave)

Google Chrome (BETA) for Windows

September 4th, 2008 throx No comments

Here comes another good software from Google – Google Web Browser ! After installed and have a run, outstanding ! It feels really smooth and light.

After the installation, it let you choose where to import your data such as IE, Firefox etc. It works preatty much the same as FIrefox but lighter and slimmer. The interface is clean and neat which gives more space for web content.

However, Google chrome does not support plugin (soon perhaps). If you like plugins might as well still stay with Firefox until plugins feature is supported in Chrome.

New F1 Store at Formula 1.com

April 16th, 2008 throx No comments

This official Formula One Online Store has finally got their website redesigned. It looks better now and easier to navigate. This store sells genuine caps, shirts, wallets, DVDs and other accessories such as key rings, writing pad and mousepad.

I personally think that the mouse pad is pretty cool, its made of carbon fibre. But the price of $413.76 is too steep for a mousepad, and due to the sleek and glossy surface its only suitable for a ball mouse.

Undeniably, the finished products are really in high quality and gorgeous. If you are a F1 enthusiast and want to wear exactly the same like F1 team members, cant go wrong with the official products.

OpenVPN and CentOS 5 Installation and Configuration Guide

April 13th, 2008 throx 22 comments

Many ppl found that installing VPN on linux is not that easy, the abvailable installation guides on VPN is often limited. I have tried a lot of installation guides and finally get it connected successfully.

Here are the steps to guide you installed a secure connection between your CentOS5 and Windows with OpenVPN open source application.

1. Download the required package files.

#wget http://openvpn.net/release/openvpn-2.0.9.tar.gz
#wget http://openvpn.net/release/lzo-1.08-4.rf.src.rpm

2. Install and build your download files

You may need the required repository before start your installation

#yum install rpm-build
#yum install autoconf.noarch
#yum install zlib-devel
#yum install pam-devel
#yum install openssl-devel

If you have the above dependencies installed, you can start your installation as follows:

#rpmbuild –rebuild lzo-1.08-4.rf.src.rpm

#rpm -Uvh /usr/src/redhat/RPMS/i386/lzo-*.rpm

#rpmbuild -tb openvpn-2.0.9.tar.gz

#rpm -Uvh /usr/src/redhat/RPMS/i386/openvpn-2.0.9-1.i386.rpm

3. Copy configuration files

Cheap VPS hostings

April 5th, 2008 throx No comments

Just want to share with you guys that I have found 2 really cheap US based VPS hosting providers slicehost and vpslink. Price starting as low as $7 per month.

Well, the cheapest package from vpslink got only 64mb physical ram and no burstable ram available. Well, It is ok if you just want to learn or play around with a linux box, but memory is too low for running standard applications. For example,  instead of running Apache, you will need to replace with lighttpd because of the low memory consumption. Therefore if you want to really max out your linux server, get atleast 256mb of memory.

If you are not a geek or experienced linux user, VPS is not for you. It is better to stay with normal hosting like share hostings, safer and easier for you since someone will be responsible on the server management.
